Archers from Arc-En-Ciel, the archery club of the town, were engaged in the French indoor archery championship, at 18 m, in Vittel. Bénédicte Wallart, vice-champion of Brittany 2022 (compound bow) and Catherine Penhouët, champion of Brittany 2022 (bare bow), two archers from the club participated for the first time.
“A thundering atmosphere”
“It’s really something I was waiting for, says Bénédicte. An experience to live in an athlete’s life. After being sidelined from competition due to injury for two years, I couldn’t have hoped for better. I stopped in qualifying but I don’t regret anything, I learned and I’ll be ready next year to get the medal”.
Same feeling with Catherine: “That’s it, I’ve done it, I’ve been hoping to participate in this French championship for a long time. After the regionals, I was really motivated. I went as far as the duels and lost in the quarter-finals. A thunderous atmosphere, the support of all the Breton archers present, an unforgettable experience. See you next year! “.
