Reported from Sky Sports, The British government through the Foreign Minister, Liz Truss, imposed sanctions on Abramovich. It is related to the club owner, Roman Abramovich who has close relations with Russian President, Vladimir Putin.

Roman Abramovich is known to be one of the seven Russian oligarchs. Thus, all kinds of assets on British soil will be frozen!

It was also a decisive action against Russia. Britain condemns Russia for fighting Ukraine.

“Our support for Ukraine will not waver. We will not stop in this mission to increase pressure on the Putin regime and stop funding its brutal war machine,” said Liz Truss.

The latest sanctions from the British government to Roman Abramovich that made Chelsea affected. With Abramovich’s assets frozen, it means that the Russian tycoon cannot sell the London club he owns!

It is known since last week, Abramovich wants to sell Chelsea starting for 3 billion Pounds or equivalent to Rp 56 trillion.

Not finished, still in connection with the sanctions against Abramovich, Chelsea are also not allowed to buy new players or give new contracts, merchandise sales are closed, Chelsea are not allowed to sell tickets anymore (except those who have season tickets), and in the coming season there should be no fans away.

These sanctions apply in the short term. Even so, in the future the UK could revise its sanctions, which means they can be made heavier or lighter.

Chelsea are still allowed to participate in all matches according to the competition schedule until the end of the season. The players and staff as well as employees are also still entitled to be paid.
