Brajkovic named college player of the year

Will a second Austrian make it to the NBA next year? Luka Brajkovic was named Player of the Year for his performances at Davidson College.

Feldkirch basketball player Luka Brajkovic was named “Player of the Year” by the Atlantic 10 Conference in the NCAA at the end of his college career in the USA. The freestyle was for an average of 14.6 points and 7.3 rebounds per game over the course of the season in the dress of the Davidson Wildcats. In addition, the statistics showed 2.5 assists and 1.2 blocks per game. Last but not least, the 2.08 meter tall power forward used 42.3 percent of his distance shots.

In the Atlantic 10 Conference alone, “Big Luka” even scored 16.2 points and 7.7 rebounds. He has celebrated 15 wins in 18 games with his team. Davidson therefore starts Friday as number one in the A-10 tournament, which takes place in Washington DC. The Wildcats and their “Player of the Year” still have a big goal in the US capital. They want to qualify for the “March Madness”, the NCAA tournament of the country’s top 64 college teams.

He was “of course overjoyed” with the award he received, Brajkovic reacted. “I worked very hard for four years to become one of the best in the A-10.” The 22-year-old also recalled that his immediate predecessors as Conference Player of the Year are signed in the NBA today – Nah’Shon “Bones” Hyland, who won the 2021 award, with the Denver Nuggets, Obi Toppin, who received awards in 2020, with the New York Knicks.
