After two consecutive defeats, NCS Alcobendas returned to the path of victory at Antela Parada after getting rid, not without problems, of CB La Matanza by 100-86

Although the result seems clear, the match was only decided in the last 4 minutes of the match where the alcobendenses they violated a 15-2 run that ended up dismantling the team from Tenerife who sold their defeat face to face. The performance of Tejera and De la Torre stood out, with 21 and 18 points respectively, guiding the garnets in the decisive moments.

Chronicle of the match

NCS Alcobendas returned to Antela Parada with the need to rediscover victory in the face of unexpected defeats against Zentro and Fuenlabrada. With the intention of sneaking into the teams playing in the promotion play-offs, Ramírez’s men knew they couldn’t afford many more defeats in a tremendously close competition. Thus, the garnets came out concentrated and after the initial basket of the people from Tenerife, a partial 7-0 seemed to foresee a placid game (7-2, min. 2). Never further from reality, the visitors put on their work overalls and thanks to a good defense they turned the score around after two free throws by Camejo (8-9, min. 4). At this moment began a future match that lasted throughout three quarters. A give and take in which both teams did not achieve great advantages and if they left 4 or 5 points, their opponent quickly replied (17-14, min. 7). A basket by Camejo gave Tenerife an advantage at the end of the first act (24-25).

Attacks were far superior to defenses. This could be verified in the second quarter where both teams were very successful and at the end of the quarter they projected scores close to 100 points. The first few minutes of this quarter were dominated by visitors who took a short distance (27-33, min. 12). NCS Alcobendas did not collapse, they did not get nervous and with a great Ibáñez they turned the score around again (34-33, min. 14). The meeting was on a seesaw that made one team or the other rule for a few seconds. The defenses were not able to stop the visiting attacks. Two free throws by De la Torre closed out a great first half (54-53).

The third quarter continued with the same course as the previous two, but with a lower score. Fatigue began to take its toll on the pitchers who were more erratic and the better positioned defenses on the pitch (57-62, min. 23). Ramírez, seeing what was happening, stopped the game in search of solutions. Time paid off and a triple by Campos put the locals up on the scoreboard again (66-65, min. 25). The last minutes were more disorganized with delivery failures, ball steals, losses and poor shot selections that caused the score to barely move (70-69).

With everything to decide, the last act of the match was reached. Seen what was seen, anything could happen and the balance would fall on the team that made fewer mistakes. In addition, the hearts of the garnet fans were predisposed to a tight end. The first minutes of this fourth quarter continued with the exchange of baskets between both teams that left the match on a knife edge (87-83, min. 36). And it was here when the locals gave a growth spurt that the people of Tenerife were unable to stop. Tejera and De la Torre were in charge of destroying the canaries inside and out, leaving the final result at 100-86.
