Stan Wawrinka Makes Comeback at Bordeaux Challenger With Victory

Withdrawn from the Masters 1000 in Rome due to pain in his wrist, Stan Wawrinka (ATP 87) found some color at the Bordeaux Challenger. Where he finally returned to victory. The Vaudois won 7-5 6-3 in front of the Spaniard Bernabe Zapata MIralles (178), a player from the qualifications.

Wawrinka had the merit of tightening the game on the restart in the two crucial moments of this meeting, at 6-5 in the first set and at 4-3 in the second.

In the next round, Stan Wawrinka will face the No. 2 seed of this Challenger in the person of Pedro Martinez (51). Finalist last month at the ATP 250 in Estoril, the Spaniard will certainly offer a tougher response than that of his compatriot.
