However, the regulations stated that it must concern the goalkeeper with the most playing minutes this season and goalkeepers who belong to the so-called SSL-A list of the team in question.

The Disciplinary Council for Professional Football subsequently decided that the game would get a new date and therefore be made up. A decision that could not count on the same understanding everywhere.
OHL then went to the BAS to challenge the decision. With success, it turns out today. “The club was of the opinion that by not showing up for the game, KV Mechelen has taken the law into their own hands,” OHL writes on its website.
“A forfeit defeat was the only possible outcome. This decision is an important precedent in sport,” it sounds.
Mechelen responded briefly to the ruling on social media. “We take note of the decision of the BAS. We would have preferred to defend our chances in a sporting manner.”
After last weekend’s draw in Sint-Truiden, KVM can gradually put the Champions’ Play-offs out of his mind. The gap with Anderlecht’s fourth place is now 8 points four games before the end.
