ZOH 2022 | BEIJING SUMMARY: The hockey players have fallen with Denmark. Pančochová did not advance to the finals, Dubovská was in action

The Czech hockey players entered the Olympic tournament in Beijing with a 1: 2 defeat to Denmark. The Northerners decided the Group B match in the first period, in which they developed a two-goal lead. The hero of the match was goalkeeper Sebastian Dahm, who scored 39 successful interventions. Captain Roman Červenka took care of the only Czech goal in the 24th minute.

The second match awaits coach Filip Pešán’s charges on Friday with Switzerland.

The day after the Czech Republic, Slovakia also received the first Olympic gold medal. After the first round of slalom, the star favorite Petra Vlhová was eighth, but thanks to a great second race, she rose to gold.

Another huge American favorite, Mikaela Shiffrin, was eliminated in the first round. The best Czech Martina Dubovská finally took the thirteenth place.

From the Czech national team, Gabriela Capová also reached the finish line of both races, taking 32nd place with a loss of 6.26 seconds to Vlhová. Elese Sommer did not finish second after 38th place in the first round.

Pančochová failed again

Snowboarder Šárka Pančochová has completed the second of three disciplines in Beijing. She failed in the opening slopestyle and the Czech national team must forget about the medal fights after the U-ramp qualification. She received 41.75 points in the first race and was in 15th place in the results list. Pančochová did not succeed in improving the evaluation, she fell during the last trick of the second race and it was beyond hope. The Czech Republic has the last chance in Big Air, which is on the show on Monday.

The U-ramp qualification was dominated by Chye Kim, a defending champion from Gold, with an output of 87.75. In second place was Micuki On from Japan and the third in the national team, Tai Xue-chung.

The Nordic combined lost the biggest star before the middle bridge race. Jarl Magnus Riiber from Norway cannot start due to the covid, and for the same reason he eliminated three other medal contenders, including the German Olympic champion Erik Frenzel.

For the twenty-year-old Austrian Johannes Lamparter, who is the world champion on the big bridge and the leader of the World Cup, the chance for a golden double has opened up. From the Czech quartet, Tomáš Portyk, who took 18th place in Klingenthal, is the best before his third Olympics.

Lindsey Jacobellis became the Olympic snowboardcross winner. The 36-year-old American won her first gold 16 years after the Turin fiasco, where a penultimate jump trick deprived her of her victory. For Vendula Hopjáková, the race ended in a hard fall in the round of 16, during which she broke her arm.

Nor Birk Ruud mastered the premiere of the Big Air ski at the Olympic Games. American Colby Stevenson finished second and Sweden’s Henrik Harlaut third

One of the main candidates for the medal, a seventeen-year-old Czech native representing Austria, Matěj Švancer, surprisingly dropped out in qualifying.

The German toboggans Wendl and Arlt, the Czechs in 16th place, dominated the doubles race

German sledders Tobias Wendl and Tobias Arlt won the doubles Olympic race for the third time in a row in Beijing. Their compatriot Natalia Geisenberger did the same on Tuesday. Filip Vejdělek and Zdeněk Pěkný took the penultimate 16th place under five circles during their premiere under five circles. In the second, they improved by two places, but with a total time of 2: 00.117, they did not move higher. They lost three and a half seconds to the winner in the sum of both races.
