These are the censored ads that did not air during the Super Bowl

The morning of this Sunday February 13 one of the most important sporting events of the year will take place: the final of the National Football League (NFL), known as Super Bowl 2022. But in addition to being an essential event in the world of sports, the Super Bowl has also become everything an artistic and musical show thanks to the show break.

Only in the United States, the Super Bowl 2021 was seen by an average of approximately 92 million viewers (Statista) and we must bear in mind that this is the lowest figure recorded since the 2006 edition. As expected taking into account this figure, the announcements that are broadcast during the retransmission are paid at the price of gold: per year past were paid $5.5 million for 30 seconds.

Not all ads pass the filter to air in the Super Bowl

Even though there is many companies willing to pay that large figure to have an ad during the NFL final, the truth is that not all proposals pass the filter and end up being censored before its broadcast on the air. Usually this happens with ads that contain sexual, religious or, directly, nudity references of recognized models.

Although they do not get to be broadcast on television, many of these commercials are filtered through social networks or can be found on YouTube. It is likely that, in the face of this Super Bowl 2022new spots do not see the light, at least officially.
