MLB The Show 22, a PS Studios game announced for Switch

baseball games MLB The Show are a great success in the United States as in Japan but, developed by San Diego Studio, a subsidiary of Sony, were until recently exclusive to the PlayStation. This changed when, at the time of the rights negotiation, the baseball league added a condition: the games must now be cross-platform. In order not to lose this “cash cow”, Sony accepted and the title appeared on Xbox last year, while MLB The Show 22 will therefore make the transition to Switch this year, as announced to us in a tweet posted yesterday.

MLB The Show 22 will add a sports simulation on a console that is terribly lacking, an addition all the more welcome since the episodes of the series are generally very well received by critics and players alike: last year’s one, for example, 78 out Opencritic and was greeted by IGN as being “the best baseball sim available, regardless of platform“. In terms of content, we will find ourselves on Switch with what will be offered on PS4 and Xbox One, namely the traditional career mode, the possibility of playing free matches and, of course, the mode based on collectible cards WAS. It should be noted that the online game will be cross-platform and that even your saves can be used from one console to another.

Already available for pre-order oneShop American, MLB The Show 22 will come out on 5 avril in dematerialized and in a physical edition on which you can see Shohei Ohtani, but also the logo P.S. Studios, which is a first for a game Switch.
