Les Bleus European champions in recurve bow

The French men’s recurve team won the title at the European Indoor Championships in Lasko (Slovenia).

The counter is open for the Blues! After team silver in 2017, Les Tricolores finally won the European title in recurve men. A medal that the Blues had been waiting for since Turin in 2008. Thomas Chirault, Jean-Charles Valladont and Clément Jacquey led their final masterfully. The French put the pressure on their opponents, chaining the 10 to achieve a perfect first end and take the advantage over Belarus. Untouchable Frenchmen who follow with a second set at 60 points to logically lead 4-0 before closing the match with an end at 59 points and winning 6-0. An exceptional match, punctuated by 17 arrows out of 18 in the middle of the target, which allows this French team to climb to the top step of the podium.

Places at the foot of the infuriating podium

A gold medal which allows France to open its counter in these European indoor championships. In recurve women, the French faced Russia for the bronze medal. But Mélanie Gaubil, Anaëlle Florent and Lisa Barbelin failed to make their opponents doubt. The Russians shoot better and get on the third step of the podium. In compound bow, the Blues will never have managed to fully return to their match. In the race for a bronze medal Boulch, Girard and Pauner were penalized by numerous arrows in the 9. The French, reigning champions, failed in fourth place behind Portugal. In less than 21 compound archery, France was opposed to the Turks. Luke Ménard, Victor Bouleau and Sébastien Armanini lost 231 to 233 and finished just off the podium. France can still have ambitions for the day on Sunday, punctuated by several individual finals.
