Alphonso Davies is currently missing from FC Bayern with a mild myocarditis. After the game in Bochum there was news about the Canadian.

On the sidelines of FC Bayern’s 4-2 (1-4) defeat by VfL Bochum, FCB coach Julian Nagelsmann commented on Alphonso Davies’ (21) injury situation.

Davies is currently suffering from heart muscle inflammation, which he contracted in the course of his corona disease at the end of last year.

Nagelsmann: Davies “on the mend”

“Fortunately, he is on the mend. It will take a while, but the dangerous markers on the heart have almost disappeared,” Nagelsmann gave the all-clear at the press conference after the Bochum game.

In two weeks there will be a “further check-up” regarding the Canadian’s health status. “Basically, however, the best case has occurred in such a situation as far as the healing process is concerned,” said the Bayern coach.

Davies was last out in the 4-0 win over VfL Wolfsburg at the end of December. Immediately afterwards he tested positive for the corona virus. In mid-January, an inflammation of the heart muscle was diagnosed.
