Eintracht Frankfurt 0-1 Bayern Munich – Robert Lewandowski courts support for Ukraine – Bundesliga

Sané victory of Bayern!

The record champion ends his mini-away crisis (two competitive games without three), wins 1-0 in Frankfurt. Thanks to Leroy Sané (26)!

Trainer Julian Nagelsmann (34) at Sky: “The victory was very valuable. I’m very, very happy with the first half. Only the goals were missing. We have to score earlier in the second half in the early stages.”

► 67. Minute: The coach brings Sané for the once again weak Sabitzer.

► 71. Minute: With his third ball contact after Kimmich’s dream pass, Sané shoots Bayern to victory.

Madness: You scored at least one goal in the 71st league game in a row. Most recently without a goal of their own, Bayern stayed 0-0 against Leipzig in February 2020.

And: Nagelsmann celebrates his first victory in the sixth Bundesliga duel against his colleague, Frankfurt coach Glasner.

Accordingly, the joy after the goal. Completely detached, the coach sprints across half the court.

Joshua Kimmich (27) on Sky: “That was a fight victory! The joy was great, it was really important.”

The fact that Bayern have to tremble for a long time is due to the usury of opportunities – and Frankfurt goalkeeper Trapp.

It holds almost everything! First with the hand (24th), then with the head (39th) against Coman. A direct hit that briefly knocks out the goalkeeper. Trapp: “If you want to defend everything, you sometimes have to turn your head.”

But not only Coman bites his teeth out at Trapp. Lewandowski also fails free-standing from six meters on Frankfurt (60th).

Speaking of Lewandowski: Because Müller (Corona) and Neuer (rehabilitation training after knee surgery) are missing, the striker wears the captain’s armband. And not just them! The Pole also has a blue and yellow bandage on his left arm, which he made out of tape. A sign of solidarity with Ukraine!

The top scorer at Sky: “We didn’t think that would happen. It hurts. We now have to support all Ukraine. I have great respect for everyone there, stand behind them.”

Because Lewandowski remained without a goal after five goals in three games in Frankfurt, he missed the next Bundesliga record. With 16 away goals, he is still one goal away from the records of Jupp Heynckes (1973/1974) and Timo Werner (2019/2020). Both had scored 17 times in the entire season.

Thanks to the win, Bayern once again have a nine-point lead over BVB (today in Augsburg). Kimmich: “It must be our aim to bring the lead to the finish.”
