‘Adjust stadiums in the Netherlands to prevent overload’

Response KNVB

KNVB football association says that the association will soon organize a meeting with clubs in professional football and specialists in the field of safe stadiums.

“The KNVB is a football association and does not have the specialist knowledge to assess building construction itself. For the license to play as a club in professional football, the stadium owner and club director must guarantee us an annual inspection and signature that the construction of the stadium is safe, so checks must take place in any case,” says the KNVB.

“Safety in the Netherlands is arranged decentrally through the governments. However, we are in favor of having stadiums inspected centrally by a stadium specialized agency, based on the English model. A stadium is an exceptionally open building, in which thousands of visitors are received and we believe that requires specialist knowledge, which we have already made known before.”
