Incredible sensation on the snowy track of Aspen (Colorado), in the United States. Tess Ledeux, the French world number 1 in big air, performed Friday, at the Winter X Games, an exceptional jump at 1620° never before performed in competition by a woman.
“This victory is so special, I missed the X Games so much, I’m very happy, it’s an incredible feeling”, said moved the 20-year-old Savoyard, who had been forced to withdraw last year, in due to the death of his father around the same time.
Her dizzying performance – a suspended time at four and a half laps (4×360° plus 180°) in rear reception – rewarded with an almost perfect score of 49/50 allowed her to beat the Canadians Megan Oldham and Olivia Asselin.
The young champion had however fallen during her second attempt. Her immediate reaction proves all the talent of the one who adds a third gold medal to her list and who will necessarily be expected in two weeks at the Beijing Olympics (4-20 February).
She is also in contention, this Saturday, in slopestyle, an event for which she will aim for a first victory, after a silver medal won in 2017.
