Wilt Chamberlain’s Superhuman Diet

Absolute legend of the orange ball, Wilt Chamberlain exerted a physical dominance almost unique in the history of the league. And this, while he had a pig diet… Former teammate of The Stilt, Jerry West had given a staggering example of this years ago.

If some of the greatest all-time records in the NBA still seem untouchable, it is in particular because a good part of them are held by Wilt Chamberlain. The Hall of Famer posted mammoth stats throughout his career, including his one-game 100-point outing that remains unmatched to this day. Physically unstoppable, the former Warriors and Lakers player was quite simply a UFO at the time.

The craziest thing is that he managed to massacre everyone despite having a rather deplorable lifestyle. Parties of all kinds, frequent intimate relations with countless women and above all, a diet that would make today’s athletes faint. Jerry West, who rubbed shoulders with him in the City of Angels, had witnessed it once. His account from years ago of this event is simply unbelievable:

Jerry West’s crazy anecdote about Wilt’s meals

I open the door and he has a towel tied around his neck, and he’s wearing basketball shorts. That’s all he had on him. I looked around and said, “Oh my God, what is this guy doing? There were three huge racks of marinated prime rib, there were six bottles of 7 Up – he was drinking 7 Up like it was water. Had two one pound beef brisket sandwiches. Coleslaw and potato slaw, grilled beans, grilled chicken. I was sitting there thinking, “Oh my God, what’s going to happen here tonight? »

I believe there was about half of one of those 7 Ups left. I said, “Did you at least go to practice before you ate all that?” He didn’t, he told me. I said, “How are you going to play tomorrow night?” Well, he played and had 25 rebounds in that game. And when I left that night, his towel looked like he was pregnant. I don’t know how a man can eat so much.

Normally, anyone would be unable to move a toe after swallowing such a large amount of food. The Stilt apparently didn’t have that problem… On the contrary, his anything but academic lifestyle never stopped him from dominating individually, like perhaps no one else in league history. A phenomenon like you only come across once in a lifetime:

Don’t try to imitate Wilt Chamberlain’s diet. You could actually end up in the hospital with nasty indigestion… Decidedly, the Hall of Famer was indeed an extraordinary being, even in the NBA.
