It is a small disappointment that the Barbazanais experienced for their first in the second phase of their regional 3 men’s championship.
Beaten by Castelmaurou with decimated rotation with only five players lying on the scoresheet. Because what should have been an advantage before the initial in-between turned into a real headache for forty minutes for Orlane Goudet and his players.
After a first quarter where we hardly let go of a single sole (19-18, 10th), the Barbazanais managed several times to grant themselves a small nest egg in advance. Like at the start of the second quarter when on a basket from Goudet the BBCB was five lengths ahead (25-20, 13th). Or just after the lemons when Sanchez from afar made his people pass to the front posts (42-39, 22nd) and Goudet came to give his people a five-point lead again a few minutes later (52-47, 28th).
But Barbazan never managed to drive the point home leaving Castelmaurou in his match (56-54, 30th).
And the last quarter was not going to change that. The scenario was about to repeat itself. Barbazan again granted himself a small bonus (64-59, 35th) before “eating the leaf” after a confusing meeting at five against four in the last two minutes (67-70).
