The flagships of the Latvian delegation at the opening of the Beijing Olympic Games – the Olympic Games – will be named

The event in the White Hall of Riga Castle will start at 4 p.m. The event will be attended by Georgian Tikmer, President of the Latvian Olympic Committee (LOC), and Kārlis Lejnieks, Secretary General of the Latvian Olympic Committee and Head of the Latvian Delegation in Beijing.

Prior to the Tokyo Olympics, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) decided, following the principle of gender equality, that each delegation would have two flagships, one male and one female.

Latvia will be represented by 57 athletes at the Beijing Olympics in February 2022, but the final composition of the delegation of athletes is not yet known, as the Latvian national hockey team will announce its representatives on Monday.

The Beijing Olympics will take place from February 4 to 20.

Composition of the Latvian team for participation in the Beijing Winter Olympics:

speed skating: Harald Silov;

bobsleigh: Oskars Ķibermanis, Matīss Miknis, Dāvis Spriņģis, Edgars Nemme, Emīls Cipulis;

skeleton: Martins Dukurs, Thomas Dukurs, Andy Lāsma Steel;

sleigh sports: Kendija Aparjode, Elīza Tīruma, Elīna Ieva Vītola, Kristers Aparjods, Gints Bērziņš, Artūrs Dārznieks, Roberts Plūme, Mārtiņš Bots, Juris Šics, Andris Šics;

figure skating: Deniss Vasiljevs;
