With the publication of the softball A2 series calendar, the 2022 competitive season of Asd Atoms’ Chieti officially opens, which from today knows its opponents in the next A2 championship, which will start in April.
The Theatine girls, newly promoted to A2 last September 25, after beating Randazzese in the playoffs, were included in an iron group, which touches six regions: Abruzzo, Marche, Tuscany, Emilia Romagna, Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia . It starts on the home diamond of Chieti Scalo, on the Easter weekend (16/17 April), and ends on 24 July. Among the opponents of Chieti, the top-seeded Macerata Softball stands out, dominating group B in 2021, a narrow defeat only in the last play-off match for A1. On the calendar 14 days, between home and back, all played with the double match formula (on the same day two matches are played against the same team): many kilometers for the two away matches in Veneto and Friuli, respectively against Rovigo and Castions di Strada (Ud), then the two matches against the Bolognese formations Longbridge 2000 and New Bologna, a formation recovered from the B, born from the partnership between the formations of Bologna and Forlì.
Finally, Nuove Pantere Lucca and White Tigers Massa Carrara, teams that Chieti has never met so far, have returned for a couple of years to the softball stage that counts.

The Chieti, in fact, has returned from three seasons in Serie B and presents itself at the starting line with a completely renewed staff, which will bring to the first team very young athletes (class 2004, 2005, 2006) from the club’s nursery.
