Good morning and thank you for joining us on this first broadcast of the Australian Open 2022. In a few minutes the first grand slam of the season will start for Reef Nadal. The Balearic tennis player will jump the Rod Laver Arena to face the American Marcos Giron, 66 of the ATP ranking. The faces have never been seen on the professional circuit.
The Spaniard begins his seventeenth appearance at the Australian Open. The last two editions fell in the quarterfinals, in 2020 against Thiem and in 2019 against Tsitsipas. He won the title in 2009. He has 69 wins and 15 losses.
