PSG: Sergio Rico officially loaned to Mallorca

Goalkeeper number 2 of PSG from 2019 to 2021, Sergio Rico will seek his happiness elsewhere. The 28-year-old Spanish goalkeeper was officially loaned to RCD Mallorca this Friday until June 2022, as we announced in recent days. This season, he was relegated to the hierarchy of goalkeepers at PSG, being number 3 or 4 depending on the competition. He wasn’t even on the list provided to UEFA for the Champions League.

Sergio Rico has played 24 games in total for PSG since 2019, including just one this season. Twenty-two minutes against Nantes (3-1) after the exclusion of Keylor Navas during the game. He wanted to find a way out to return to competition and the club of the capital was open to a departure.

PSG is finalizing its fifth transfer or loan of the winter window there after Rafinha on loan to Real Sociedad, Bandiougou Fadiga transferred to Olympiakos and the loans of young Kenny Nagera to Avranches (N1) and Teddy Alloh to Eupen (Belgian D1).

“Paris Saint-Germain wishes Sergio much success on this loan to RCD Mallorca,” the club wrote in its press release. The loan does not come with an option to buy and Rico, under contract until June 2024 in Paris, will return at the end of the season.
