Power 4 for the Lakers | NBA

Behind a solid defense, 37 assists and a good address from afar, the Lakers led almost the entire game to win a fourth victory in a row. It’s the first time of the season!

Seven points from Malik Monk and thirteen from Avery Bradley allow the Lakers to quickly take a thirteen point lead, but the Hawks manage to stay in contact thanks to the vista from Trae Young and the good comeback of Onyeka Okongwu (34- 28). Behind a Russell Westbrook who assists and a Malik Monk with a hot hand, LA takes a 19-point lead thanks to a 19-6 (53-34). Trae Young then woke up his family by planting 19 of Atlanta’s last 21 points in the first half to return to -3 (64-61).

Coming back from the locker room, Malik Monk’s award-winning fifth and sixth shots gave the Lakers some air, but the Young-Collins duo continued to keep the Hawks in the game. The defense of Los Angeles, however, manages to stifle the leader of the Hawks. His five lost balls allow the premises to make the gap and, this time, it is Talen Horton-Tucker and Carmelo Anthony who shine (101-84).

The Hawks may well hang on, 17 points from LeBron James in the last quarter allow the Lakers to validate their fourth victory in a row.

WHAT YOU MUST REMEMBER

We don’t stop Malik Monk anymore. The former Hornet was averaging 20.7 points in the last six games, an average already reached at halftime! He finished at 29 points with a 7 of 12 on 3-pointers. While his shooting has always been one of his strengths, Malik Monk has turned into a pick-and-roll partner for LeBron James. Without a pivot, the Lakers took advantage of the space to let James and Russell Westbrook attack, and Monk often found himself open from afar. He took advantage of it.

Trae Young takes the brunt of the Lakers. With 25 points and 14 assists, the leader of the Hawks tried everything to keep his team in the game but faced with California defensive pressure, he lacked rigor. He lost 9 of his team’s 15 lost balls, and the Lakers benefited greatly, scoring 28 points on their opponent’s clumsiness. They also delivered 37 assists against an Atlanta defense that continues to be problematic.

Sprained left ankle for Clint Capela. Author of 9 points and 11 rebounds, the pivot of the Hawks had to leave his partners in the last quarter due to an injury to the left ankle. He did not come back in play. Clint Capela was in difficulty against the Lakers who again started LeBron James as a pivot. It is not yet known if the Swiss will be available against the Clippers on Sunday.

TOPS/FLOPS

Malik Monk. 29 points 7 out of 12 away allowed Malik Monk to confirm his good form at the moment. Inducted into the starting five, he brings skill, enthusiasm and freshness.

LeBron James. Clumsy during the first three quarters, the King made up for it by scoring 17 of his 32 points in the last quarter to repel the Hawks once and for all. He also took 8 rebounds, and delivered 9 assists, but also made 3 blocks.

Russell Westbrook. The leader of the Lakers went to one point of a new triple double (9 points, 13 assists, 11 rebounds). He left his mark on the match from the first quarter. With Malik Monk by his side for the address from afar, and Avery Bradley to deal with the opposing leader, he can focus more on directing the game, and less on scoring, where he was still awkward.

John Collins. With 21 points and 8 rebounds, the strong winger was one of the only Hawks to do well tonight.

✅ ⛔ Bring Young. He breaks a franchise record with a 17th straight game with at least 25 points, and he distributed 14 assists. But the All-Star point guard also lost 9 balls and missed 6 of his 7 long attempts.
