Golfer Cameron Smith continued his momentum during the second round of the Champions Sentry tournament on Friday on the island of Maui in the Hawaiian archipelago. The Australian handed in a second card of 64 (-9).

Smith, who was at the top of the standings after 18 holes, made two bogeys in a row to start his second outing on the Plantation course in Kapalua. However, he recovered by wedging an eagle on the fifth pennant, then nine birdies on the last 13 holes.

He will start the third round with a three-stroke priority over Spaniard Jon Rahm and American Daniel Berger. These last two also shared the second echelon after the first day of activities.

This event, traditionally the first of the new year, brings together all golfers who have won a tournament in the previous year. Of the 38 participants in the running, none represents the Maple Leaf.
