Steven Gerrard to reunite with Philippe Coutinho with Aston Villa agreeing to loan ex-boyfriendplaymaker Liverpool is from Barcelona with a purchase option.
The Brazilian forward will spend the second half of the 2021/22 season at Villa Park and look to revive his crumbling career in Catalunya.
Previously, he was a Premier League star with Liverpool for five years and will hope to continue his form in England after agreeing to work under Gerrard, his former Anfield team-mate who is now in charge of Villa.

Aston Villa confirmed the deal in a statement which read: “Aston Villa and FC Barcelona have agreed that Philippe Coutinho will spend the remainder of the season on loan at Villa Park.”
“This agreement, which is still pending medical examination and work permit of the player, also includes a purchase option and Philippe will fly to Birmingham in the next 48 hours.”
Why did Coutinho move?
The 29-year-old first arrived in England in January 2013, when Liverpool wooed him from Inter Milan.

Injuries have further clouded his career, and Barca admit they are ready to sell Coutinho since the summer of 2021.
He has been heavily linked with various clubs because of him, with six Premier League sides reportedly interested, but he will now hope his illustrious partnership with Gerrard will bring him back to success.
