Nigeria dismisses Mohamed Salah’s Egypt for Group D poster

Nigeria won 1-0 against Egypt for the first day poster of Group D of the Africa Cup of Nations on Tuesday in Garoua, Cameroon. Kelechi Iheanacho scored the only goal of the game (30th).

The Nigerians dominated the first period and took the lead at the half hour after a goal from Kelechi Iheanacho. The Leicester striker recovered a ball cleared by the Egyptian defense before sending the leather into the top corner (30th). The ‘Super Eagles’ still dominated the second half but failed to further increase their advantage.

In the evening, Sudan will face Guinea-Bissau in the second Group D match at 8:00 p.m.

On the second day scheduled for Saturday January 15, Nigeria will face Sudan at 5:00 p.m. and Egypt will face Guinea-Bissau (8:00 p.m.).

Defending defending Algeria was hooked by Sierra Leone earlier on Tuesday (0-0) for his entry into the competition in Group E.
