Millionaires Liga BetPlay 2022 economic losses in transfers Duque, Mosquera and Montoya | Colombian Soccer | Betplay League

The start of the 2022 season for Millionaires has not been the best, taking into account the complications in the first training sessions due to the positive cases of coronavirus and the departure of some of the fundamentals in the midfield and attack. The rumors have given names that the fans do not like, not only because of the players who were in those positions, but because of the numbers with which the possible reinforcements come.

Not only the statements of Gustavo Serpa, the club’s maximum shareholder, have set fire to the fans, but the arrival of Jhon Duque to Nacional, taking into account that his performance in Mexico was not the best.

At that time, the blues, the player and San Luis negotiated so that a percentage would remain in the power of the ambassadors. Now, with his arrival at Nacional, that percentage was lost, which corresponded to 30% of a future sale. The Mexican team let him go, being a new green player for 2022, as a free agent, ceasing all economic rights to the Bogota citizens in a future business.

Now, a similar case occurred with Harold Santiago Mosquera, who became a new Deportivo Cali player after his stint at Pachuca. In 2018, the Blues sold the young man to the Dallas FC of the MLS for a figure close to two million dollars, for 80% of his sports rights, keeping the other percentage in case of an eventual transfer.

It all ended without benefit for Millonarios, as the Buenaventura-born left the North American team as a free agent, arriving in Mexico. Same situation, the ambassadors lost the right to receive economic benefits, rather than the solidarity mechanism in a future transfer.

The millionaire purchases have not been the best, as one of them was that of Santiago Montoya, which they classified as the most expensive transfer in recent time. The midfielder arrived in 2018 with all the expectations, despite this, the injuries did not allow him to perform at his best, leaving him in debt for what he showed on the field of play.

Millionaires paid a figure close to a million and a half dollars. Montoya ended up leaving the club as a free agent at the end of 2020. Although not everything is bad, since the case of Wuilker Faríñez allowed him to receive about 1.8 million euros, also keeping a tiny percentage in an eventual transfer.

Another recent business was that of Cristian Arango, which left about a million dollars, taking into account that Benfica and Millonarios had 50% and 40% of the player’s sports rights, while the rest was in the power of Envigado. Not to mention the arrival of Álvaro Montero, national team goalkeeper and with projection, ending up in the blue awnings as a free agent.

In that order of ideas, the Blues will have to analyze what may be failing, from the hiring policy they carry out and the businesses carried out, seeking to ensure a future income, which in the Duque and Mosquera case did not occur.
