le Dojo Club Brando is mobilized

Each year, the SOP consists of a week of promotion of sports practice among young people and mobilization of the educational community around the civic and sporting values ​​inscribed in the DNA of Olympism and Paralympism. It concerns both teachers and students, from kindergarten to university, and their parents.
The SOP also mobilizes high-level athletes, sports associations, sports federations and local authorities each year.

Her goals ?
To raise awareness to the Olympic and Paralympic values ​​by mobilizing educational and fun tools made available, use sport as a teaching tool, to discover Olympic and Paralympic disciplines in collaboration with the sports movement, by organizing sports practice workshops, changer the look at disability based on the discovery of parasports and by integrating parasports or shared sports meetings. and awake young people to voluntary and civic engagement.

In this year 2022, this Olympic and Paralympic Week is being held from January 24 to 29 on the theme of sport for the environment and the climate. On this occasion, Paris 2024 provides a set of educational resources and best practices. Coming from different structures of the sports movement and the educational world, these resources allow organizers to create a tailor-made program: discovery of Olympic and Paralympic sports, courses on the history of the Games, science and sport, advice for hosting an athlete, etc. .

20 activities planned in Corsica
In Corsica 20 activities are planned, 16 in southern Corsica and 4 in Haute-Corse, mainly in schools.
In Haute-Corse, only one representative of the sports world: the Dojo Club Brando by Sylvie Giorgi Iozzia. « I called our animation Meeting sharing ” emphasizes the president of the club. ” These words speak for themselves and mean many things at the same time. It was through the Corsica League of Judo that I got wind of this SOP. The league invited us to follow the action and I decided to register our club because we share these values ​​here. Just because you have a disability doesn’t mean you can’t exercise. And I speak knowingly. My final goal, with the support of the Cap Corse Handicap association, is to take a delegation of FFJDA licensed children to the 2024 Paralympic Games. »

Two-step animations
« We offer two meetings open to everyone** and in compliance with health rules: Wednesday 26 and Saturday 29 January in Erbalonga. That will materialize through moments of instruction, information, sharing, sport and mobilization around the environment between the judoka children of the organizing club, the parents of members, the population of the municipality of Brando and an athlete high-level disabled person, in this case Dumè Benassi*. The latter will be present to discuss with the children about his career and his handicap. For these activities I received the support of Cap Corse Handicap and its president Éric Valery, the municipality of Brando, the Corse Judo League and Paris 2024 ».
