With Laura Gaugere standing out with eight performance points, the champion of “Elvi floorball league” Kocēni “Rubene” celebrated the victory in the regular championship match on Sunday and continued the season without losing points. “Rubene” with the guests with 10: 2 (5: 0, 3: 2, 2: 0) beat the leader of the tournament “Ķekavu”.

Gaugere scored three goals in the match and returned five assists, returning to the top of the championship’s most productive players. Danute Tinkuse also scored three goals, but Ieva Ločmele stood out twice. Meanwhile, the team of Cēsis “Lekrings” celebrated its most convincing victory in the season, defeating the floorball players of “Irlava” / “Tukums-Slampe” at home 8: 2 (1: 0, 3: 1, 4: 1). Kate Meldere and Liliāna Jakovicka marked Cēsis with 2 + 1.

On Sunday, Līgatne beat NND / RJTC 5: 3 (1: 0, 3: 0, 1: 3). Liene Adamane scored two goals for the guests, but Madara Akmentiņa had one goal and two assists. “Ķekava” with 26 points in 12 games takes the first place in the tournament table, but after that with 24 and 21 points in eight and nine matches Kocēni units “Rubene” and “Rubene -1”.

12 teams are fighting for medals in the men’s competition this season, but eight units are competing in the women’s competition. It is planned that each team will meet twice in the main event. The top eight will advance to the quarterfinals. In the series up to four victories of one team, the semi-finalists will be determined, in the series of the same length two teams will be announced, which will compete for bronze medals in Arena Riga next spring, as well as the two clubs that will compete for the big champions’ cup and gold prizes.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic in the 2019/2020 season and the state of emergency declared in the country due to it, the Latvian champions and medalists remained unclear, but the last championship was jerked and with a smaller number of playoffs for the same reason. The teams of Kocēni “Rubene” won in the final in Valmiera.
