Galatasaray in shock: Turkish international Ahmet Çalık (27) dies – football

The Turkish international Ahmet Calik († 27) died as a result of a car accident.

As reported by Turkish media, the Konyaspor defender went off the road on the highway between Ankara and Nigde province at around 9 a.m. Turkish time. Calik lost control of his vehicle and only came to a stop in a deep ravine.

Calik was most recently under contract with Konyaspor, and was one of the permanent staff here. Between 2017 and 2020 he played for Galatasaray (56 games, three goals). He also ran eight times for the Turkish national team.
