Fernando Rivas and María Martínez, protagonists of the telepresence sessions of the Wanted Champion

The rapid evolution of the pandemic situation throughout the national territory forced the cancellation of the national concentration in December Wanted Champion, the renowned project of the Spanish Badminton Federation (FESBA) for attracting talent. Of course, it did not prevent the training project from continuing in telepresence format.

???? The Spanish Championship ‘Champion Wanted’ crowns the brightest pearls of Spanish badminton.

For this reason, in recent weeks four virtual sessions have been held to develop a specific program in which actions have been proposed for coaches of U15 and U13 athletes, their territorial coordinators and the families of these athletes.

The CARD coach and director of the ‘SBC’ Ferdinand Rivas has led the training program for coaches, which has had the participation of the head of national teams and support technician Ernest Garcia and the SBC coordinator Fran Casermeiro. This training has been aimed at the tactical aspects of our sport.

On the other hand, the psychologist Maria Martinez has led the training part related to mental training, in which three workshops have been developed: one for coaches, another for family members and a common forum for both groups, with the aim of integrating mental training in the training environment of our athletes and provide families with resources to guarantee and develop the psychological and emotional well-being of our young promises.
