Rayo insists, but Serrano overtakes Athletic

In 10 seconds, Falcao had his first shot on goal after a dizzying start in Vallecas. In 27 minutes Rayo Vallecano tilted the field in his favor to position himself in the visitor’s field and attack him constantly from all sectors of the field. The still ball continued to be a weapon for Iraola’s men who know that from above they have a certain advantage over the Colombian. But when the place was better, he appeared one against for Nico Serrano to take advantage of and with a cross shot he beat Luca Zidane for 0-1 in 29′.

The visiting lead kept their reactive disposition to take advantage of Williams’ speed. While, for Rayo, the only alternative to define in the area was el Tigre, who at 38′ recovered in his field and generated an offensive play in which they failed to finish. The first half ended with 0-1 for Marcelino’s men.

Lightning tries but fails

Ball and will for the local that from the beginning of the complement was launched to look for the tie. The centers to the area were the constant for the Colombian who at 58′ received a pass that he could not control well in a counterattack that Rayo had managed to form. A lot of scoring in the area for Falcao who also did not count on the aim of his teammates to have a clear shot against Simón in 65′ of the match.

Falcao left the court at 68′ due to Iraola’s decision, Guardiola entered in his place. Two minutes later Álvaro had it for the tie. After eluding the goalkeeper, she finished off, but the defense took her off the line. In the end, the play was annulled due to the Rayo player being out of place.
