‘Djokovic case’ live: Novak press conference | Riots in Australia, last minute

“I believe in vaccination, it is something fantastic”

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson spoke about whether the country will let Novak Djokovic in for the Wimbledon tournament, saying he believes everyone should get vaccinated as it is “fantastic”.

This is unresponsive, however; to the uncertainty about whether the world number one will be able to play the third Grand Slam of the season in June, although current UK legislation allows unvaccinated people to enter, as long as they provide a negative PCR before traveling and perform a ten-day quarantine during which another two PCRs will have to be performed, on the second and eighth days.

In case of going to London, Djokovic will be able to cut the confinement with a PCR on the fifth day of his arrival.

“It is important that the Australian authorities make their own decisions. All that I am going to say about the Djokovic issue, against whom, by the way, I have played tennis, is quite good, is that I believe in vaccination and that is something fantastic “Johnson said.

“I think that everyone should trust this program (the vaccination), because it allows this country to be one of the best economies in Europe and, at the same time, protect the whole world. It has great advantages,” added the first Minister.

Documents that have emerged from the trial that Djokovic has won in Melbourne have revealed that the Serbian is not vaccinated, which can complicate his travels on the circuit. For now, both Roland Garros and Wimbledon, the next two Grand Slams of the season, have not opposed the arrival of the Serbian.
