Dakar: Loeb nibbles behind, De Mévius wins in SSV3 class | Car engine

Tom Colsoul has tested positive for the coronavirus several times in recent days and is not allowed to start in the Dakar tomorrow. Colsoul misses his seventeenth Dakar. Together with Guillaume de Mévius, he had prepared intensively in recent weeks and the duo were among the outsiders for the overall victory.

“This is a very hard nut. You can call it my biggest disappointment of my Dakar career,” says Colsoul. “The realization will soon come when my friends are driving and I have to go home. I am positive, but I am not sick. When I was tested again yesterday, I was confident. I could, so to speak, a full football match play. Not so.”

“It’s just such a shame that I’ve worked a full year and can’t participate now. We would also start without pressure and without expectations. But I can tell you, we could have surprised. It’s a lot of chatting to my face. that will still hurt.”

Tom Colsoul’s abandonment does not mean the end point for De Mevius. He takes off with another copilot. Who that is will be announced later in the day.
