Coahuilans with a view to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games

936 days after the Paris 2024 Olympic Games take place again, there are several athletes from Coahuila who appear as strong cards of the state to represent Mexico.

After how complicated it was to carry out the last Tokyo Games, in which they had to be postponed for a year due to the stagnations left by the global Coronavirus pandemic, it seems that the next edition will be with a “new normal”.

The Saltillo shooter competed in the most recent edition of the Olympic Games, which were held in Tokyo, Japan. Her accurate shots could lead her to the next Olympic tournament and of course to competitions such as the World Cup in her discipline or the Pan American Games.

The Saltillo goalkeeper was one of the Mexican athletes with the best performance in the Cali-Valle 2021 Pan American Youth Games. His aim was infallible and he won the silver medal on Colombian soil. His presence in the next fair could be a guarantee for Coahuila.

He has attended the Olympics three times, all in a row. The Saltillo native coach has had Rosa Peña, Goretti Zomaya and Edson Ramírez as pupils. London 2012, Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 are part of his journey … his vast experience could guide him to the next Olympic path in 2024.

Tamaulipeco by birth, but his entire sporting career has been developed in the capital of Coahuila. The camp he made on serape ground for the 2019 Pan American Games was an important factor in his qualification for Tokyo 2020.

In 2021, he broke the national record for sports shooting with 631.3 points in the national selective held in Jalisco; they qualified for the Central American and Caribbean Games, where the contest for tickets to the Olympics begins.

The Saltillo goalkeeper qualified for the 2016 Rio Olympics, where he managed to sneak into 28th place in the general classification, but lost in his first match against the representative of Cuba. Now he has his sights set on Paris.

He won the State Sports Prize in 2021, thanks to his debut participation in the Olympic Games (Tokyo 2020). It is shaping up to be an essential for Paris 2024.

One of the best tennis players that Coahuila has, a native of Saltillo, is a promise within his branch. In 2021 he played the Cali Valle Pan American Youth Games, but he did not have the best of luck. He hopes to continue climbing the world rankings and to clinch a spot in the next Pan American Games.
