Canceled in Bali, All Real Madrid-Barcelona Matches Held at JIS

Jakarta

Event The International Youth Championship (IYC) will be canceled in Bali in February. The entire series of matches featuring the young team of the Spanish giants with the Indonesia All Star will be transferred to the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS).

“No, all (matches) are in Jakarta. Because it’s inconvenient if that’s the case, because transportation under COVID conditions is also dangerous if there are two cities,” said Jakpro President Director Widi Amanasto when confirmed, Thursday (27/1/2022).

This match will initially be held in Bali and Jakarta. Widi said this decision was taken after the organizers held a meeting with the central government taking into account the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia. Widi also added that later matches at JIS will be held without spectators.

“Because this activity is also for Indonesia, yes, so that the name of Indonesia is good,” he explained.

“So the JIS readiness is all Jakpro, but the match readiness is in JXP support JXP from the side venue. (The match) has no spectators, only the crew,” he added.

Confirmed separately, the Chairman of Pancoran Soccer Field Gede Widiade conveyed his plan, the matches for Real Madrid U18, Atletico Madrid U18, and Barcelona U18 are scheduled for 6-12 February 2022. Currently, the party is waiting for confirmation of the COVID-19 condition in Spain.

“Today, the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs, Youth and Sports has agreed, everything is ready, now everything is ready, the health process is ready. We just have to wait for the certainty of Omicron’s condition in Spain, Europe is the same as us. Pray for me,” said Gede.

“Because it’s not possible to see conditions in two locations, while being more effective, efficient is also easier monitoring-However, this year we will allocate it to Jakarta,” he continued.

Gede claims this match is a event annual and not commercialized. According to him, the organization of this football match is solely to demonstrate the good handling of COVID-19 in Indonesia as well as to introduce the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) to the world stage.

“Because it is open commercially, but is charity, informing about the good handling of COVID in Indonesia and the launching of JIS. That just. This is not a commercial plan and this is an annual routine,” he said.

As is well known, event IYC was delayed due to the anticipation of the Omicron variant in Indonesia. At that time, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said his party would support the central government’s steps in limiting activities that invite crowds so that they have the potential to transmit COVID-19.

“Included in it is a delay soft launching JIS until the pandemic situation and the spread of the Omicron variant virus has been more controlled and more predictable,” Anies said in a virtual conference, Friday (12/3/2021).

The three Spanish clubs were originally scheduled to compete in the International Youth Championship (IYC) in Bali and Jakarta on 4-11 December 2021. However, the Indonesian government imposed restrictions on the entry of foreigners into the country to prevent the Omicron variant.
