Actor Siddharth, whose response to a tweet from badminton player Saina Nehwal sparked controversy, has apologized to the badminton star for what he called a “gross joke”.
Amid the controversy over Siddharth’s tweet vs. Saina, the actor’s nasty old tweet about his ex, Southern star Samantha Ruth Prabhu has gone viral on the internet.
It was just after Southern star couple Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya, affectionately known as #ChaySam, announced their divorce, that Siddharth tweeted about “cheaters”.
He wrote: “One of the first lessons I learned from a teacher in school…” Cheaters never thrive. ” What’s yours ? (sic) “.
Netizens weren’t happy that Siddharth had made an indirect search of her ex and targeted her for her divorce. Several users of social networks had even denounced the actor for his insensitivity.
Now, in the midst of the Siddharth-Saina controversy, the actor’s tweet about Samatha is coming back to the fore and internet users have called out the actor for being a recidivist unresponsive to women.

does not have @Acteur_Siddharth also say bullshit about Samantha after her divorce from her husband?
Really shows his state of mind towards women. https://t.co/WM5Q9MwqZX – Arpit Agrawal (@Appy_Fizzz) January 10, 2022
Fallen star and feminist (?) #Siddharth is a repeat offender! He leaves nothing to insult, except to satisfy his paraphilic and little gentlemanly ego!

For strangers, earlier today (January 12), in a letter posted to his Twitter journal, Siddharth publicly apologized to ace Shuttler Saina Nehwal for the use of the word “rooster” in his tweet. In his apologies, Siddharth wrote: “Dear Saina, I want to apologize to you for my crass joke I wrote in response to one of your tweets a few days ago. “I can disagree with you on a lot of things, but even my disappointment or anger when I read your tweet cannot justify my tone and my words. I know I have more grace in me than that. As for the joke… If a joke needs to be explained, then it wasn’t a very good joke to begin with. Sorry for a joke that didn’t land. However, I must stress that my pun and humor did not have any of the malicious intentions that so many people from all walks of life have attributed to me. I am a staunch feminist ally and I assure you that there was no gender involved in my tweet and certainly no intention to attack you as a woman. I hope we can put this behind us and you will accept my letter. You will always be my champion. Honestly, Siddharth. ”
Siddharth’s letter of apology comes after the National Women’s Commission became aware of the actor’s tweet in response to the badminton star.
In a statement released Monday, the NCW, calling the actor’s tweet “misogynistic and outrageous at a woman’s modesty amounting to disrespect and an insult to the dignity of women on the media platform social “, had declared that he was looking for swift and strict action. against the actor.
The NCW had written to the Maharashtra DGP to investigate the case and register an FIR under the relevant provisions of the law. He had also written to Twitter India’s grievance manager, asking the social media platform to block Siddharth’s account and take appropriate action against him for posting offensive remarks on Nehwal’s post, “thus outraging his modesty and insulting his right to live in dignity ”.
