Despite the truce that will see them resume competition in the second week of January 2022, the Seniors of the SDRB XV continue to train in order not to lose the good dynamic seen since the start of the season: “We had a perfect start to the season. We still need two points in three matches to be mathematically qualified. Afterwards, the counters will be reset to zero. We must therefore remain active and prepare for the coming months as seriously as possible… ” announces Laurent Florentin.

Thus, on Wednesdays, instead of meeting on their lawn at the Pierre-Pebay stadium, the men of President Yannick Saltzmann meet…. indoors, at the Palais Omnisport Joseph Claudel in the City of Saint-Dié-des-Vosges: “With the weather conditions, it is often difficult for us to train outside during the months of December and January. We must also save as much as possible our land, which is already in poor condition. In addition, we will only resume the championship on January 16 and we must not fall into the routine … We must therefore find solutions to continue a physical activity while trying to vary the disciplines “ explains Laurent Florentin.

It is a privilege for the SDRB XV to be able to benefit from a retreat room during this winter period. But beyond that, for Laurent Florentin, it is important to be able to collaborate with other local clubs: “A few years ago, we played volleyball, this year it will be handball and perhaps judo… These sessions must each bring us something: handball and rugby have as a point in common the taking of intervals and the contact. When judo is the combat sport par excellence… We also had to do joint training with the US Raon L’Etape but that was postponed… ” adds the co-trainer.

For example, on December 22, the SDRB XV and Saint-Dié Vosges Handball clubs will meet for a handball session …
