the youth of the fenua in training with the Olympic champion Clarisse Agbegnenou • TNTV Tahiti Nui Television

It is an exceptional session for these young judokas: for an hour, they were able to discuss with Clarisse Agbegnenou, 5 times world and European champion and above all double gold medalist at the last Olympic Games in Tokyo. Some have even had the privilege of being the training partner of the world benchmark of less than 63 kilos: “The children, the grown-ups… they are there, they listen. There is a lot of people. I am well received. I feel good”.

Then comes the signing session and photos to immortalize this moment. Our seeds of champions wanted to know everything about the champion. The older ones take over. The foreign delegations present at the international challenge were also there. After the warm-up, the champion reveals her “koshi Guruma”, a technique that helped her a lot during the world championships: “It’s a technique that I like to put in competition, with different approaches. We’ll see if there are any who will do it later. I hope so anyway, and I’ll look to see if there are any who liked the technique ”.

A new approach to the “koshi Guruma” that our practitioners have tried to place during the “randori”, the combat phases during training. “The feeling is good. There are people on the carpets. There are young and old, everyone has put on their kimono. And with the experience of the French, Canadians and Americans, and with the arrival of Clarisse, it’s really great ” indicates Arnaud Bertrand, president of the Judo Ju-Jitsu school in Polynesia.

The champion will run her training camp until Wednesday, December 22 at Fautau’a. She will then take advantage of a few days of vacation in Polynesia before returning to France: “To all Polynesians, have a great holiday, and have fun. I hope to see you again next time, but in the meantime I will enjoy it. Thank you for the welcoming”.
