The Telethon, activities for a good cause

The Telethon has made a comeback in Roquefort. The event put down its suitcases for three days near the Arlabosse space.

The kickoff of the festivities of this 18th edition was given on Friday evening in the presence of Jean-Pierre Pin (organizer), Martine Carbonnelle (departmental coordinator of the AFM Telethon), Françoise Laurent (departmental councilor of the canton of the West Agenais), or even Paul Vo Van (departmental councilor of the canton of Ouest Agenais). Note also the presence of rugby player Jessy Jegerlenher who then went to Armandie to witness the victory of his SUA team in the stands, as well as to support this action in the lair of rugby Agen. About 200 people took part in a very friendly opening night with an aperitif and a show meal animated by singing or in particular dancing. In addition to a tasty meal, on the program of this festive time: country dance, flamenco, pole dance with Mélissa Méliart, songs by singer and guitarist Hugo Casonato, or even musical arias performed with brio by the Colombian choir of the Tour des Chants. .

Percussion and march

“As a Roquefortaise, when I was co-coordinator, it seemed important to us with all the organizers to participate in this event within our commune of Roquefort” recalls Martine Carbonnelle, who coordinates at the level of the department. AFM Telethon. For nearly eighteen years now, Roquefort has always been faithful to the Telethon by being a stopover town. A love story which, a priori, still has a bright future ahead of it.

Saturday was a very busy day. In the morning, sport was in the spotlight. The Passageois table tennis club organized a demonstration, as did the Judo Entente Roquefort Sainte-Colombe which relocated its dojo and tatami mats to Arlabosse. “Smile and Hope” walkers also walked for a good cause during a walk in the vicinity of Brax, Roquefort and its surroundings. The percussionists of “Moça Dékalé” punctuated the meridian break. The “Buggy’s”, quads and 4X4s of Jean-Chrystel Chiesa and his friends also made the engines roar. The afternoon, to the sound of the mechanics, also saw the singer Clovis Faure as well as the folk dancers from the village of Réaup shine. In the evening, a fashion show by Melvin Schmitlin and the Aerobics champions brought the Saturday entertainment to a close. On the program for this Sunday: departure of bikers (motocross and quads) from the Teddy Riders association, mass for the sick (10 a.m.) with Father Benoît in Arlabosse, return of the bikers, friendship aperitif and catering (from 12 p.m. ), and a big Telethon lottery (at 2:30 p.m.). This year, in addition to the Telethon shop (sale of key rings or even t-shirts), small trees donated by Alain Zanardo are also offered for sale. The fifty or so volunteers mobilized throughout the weekend thank all the visitors for their generosity, and the speakers who volunteered.
