The starting midfielder who would not continue at Deportivo Cali: he could sign abroad | Colombian Soccer | Betplay League

Deportivo Cali was left with the tenth star by winning the BetPlay II-2021 League by beating Deportes Tolima in the final.

The goal of coach Rafael Dudamel is to keep all at least the bulk of the professional squad to face local competitions and especially the Copa Libertadores, which reaches the group stage directly for being champion.

There are two players who have been playing for several days to go abroad. The first, Jhojan Valencia, a Florida midfielder, son of former center-back Manuel Valencia, who is said to have an MLS request, and his teammate Andrés Colorado.

Both are starters, Valencia was formed in the Verdiblanca quarry and is owned by the club, while the federative rights of Colorado are held by Cortuluá.

Colorado soccer conditions have been sufficiently proven. He is a midfielder who not only provides a brand, but also filters balls with ease and also scores goals, thanks to his powerful mid-distance shot and ability in the air game, with his height of 1.90 meters.

At 22, he did the second outing at Cali. The first loan was in 2017 and was maintained until 2019 to return to Cortuluá. Starting 2020, Alfredo Arias asked for it again and until the title campaign he was fundamental in Rafael Dudamel’s scaffolding, but it is unlikely that he will continue with the Colombian champion.

Óscar Arturo Martán, son of the president of Cortuluá, told FUTBOLRED that “the player was about to leave for Germany last summer and it is very likely that he will leave.”

The objective of the Valle del Cauca third team, recently promoted, is to be able to sell the federative rights of the midfielder to international football, hopefully Europe, since it is clear that Cali does not currently have the cash flow to keep their services.
