The Blues in full preparation for the Euro

From December 26, twenty players from the French men’s handball team will be gathered at the Maison du handball (Créteil) for a first course module which will end on December 30.

Of the 20 players summoned, there is a backbone of 12 Olympic champions. Timothey N’Guessan recently injured his ankle and will not be able to participate in the preparation. Ditto for the Nîmes Jean-Jacques Acquevillo already forfeited for the Euro. Paris Saint Germain HB also communicated on the injury of Luka Karabatic, but the international tricolor is still present in the list.

Croatia, Ukraine and Serbia on the menu

Four months after the Olympic coronation, the French team is already putting on the warming blue to prepare for a European championship organized jointly by Hungary and Slovakia. Before joining Szeged to face Croatia on Thursday 13 January (then Ukraine on 15 and Serbia on 17), the Blues will take part in the traditional end-of-year camp.

A new adventure

In the eyes of coach Guillaume Gille, “The course which will begin on December 26 will mark the beginning of a new adventure after our common history at the Olympics. This first block will be a moment of evaluation and work adapted to the states of form of the players who have benefited from rest time and those who will have participated in the F4 of the Coupe de la Ligue. It will then be time to play in the Golden League before we face the European elite, in Szeged, in a very tough preliminary round. “
