The Biella hospital “closes” for Covid: guaranteed urgencies and priorities

To cope with the fourth Covid wave, the peak of which has not yet been reached, the hospital in Biella “closes” for Covid. Urgencies will be met for both hospitalizations and outpatient services.

The regional body for “Infectious Diseases and Emergencies” (DIRMEI), today issued urgent provisions regarding the rescheduling of hospital and outpatient activities, for the strengthening of Covid-19 beds and to double the vaccination activity.

As already happened last winter, the activities that cannot be postponed are maintained (urgent hospitalizations, elective oncological hospitalizations, priority A elective hospitalizations and obstetric hospitalizations). Non-postponable outpatient activities (priority U and B) and cancer screening are also guaranteed.

Visits to relatives in the hospital are still allowed for holders of a reinforced green pass. However, they will have a limited duration of 15 minutes. It is not excluded that in case of worsening of the situation they will be suspended.
