It is not a cliché to say that the best of state swimming will meet in Ordizia on the 29th. The International Christmas Tournament may be missing some international figures this year – the pandemic has made it difficult for some foreign clubs to visit. , but in return it will have “the best level that we have never been able to bring” in Spanish swimming, said Francisco José González ‘Txesko’, a member of the Ordizia Igeriketa club, on Thursday. It is worth as a fact that among seven of the participants they have reaped fourteen victories in tests of the Spanish championships.

And although foreign participation has had to be restricted, contrasted figures such as the Italian Francesca Fangio or her compatriot Mateo Mili, podium in Ordizia two years ago, arrive. The presence of Simona Kubová, a Czech swimmer three times Olympian, has also been confirmed. In the adapted swimming category, Nahia Zudaire and Iñigo Llopis will receive the warmth of the public after their great role in the Paralympic Games in Tokyo, where the San Sebastian won a medal and the Zubietarra remained at the gates with a fourth place. Global participation, still not closed, will be around 300 swimmers in Ordizia, for which the organization will be strict in the section on security measures against the coronavirus.

The tests will be the traditional 50 and 100 meters in butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle, and 100 and 200 meters in freestyle. The qualifying rounds will start at 10 am and the finals will take place from 6.30 pm with broadcasting on ETB-4 and streaming.
