Starting this Sunday and for the next seven days, Huelva will host the largest sporting event in its history, the Absolute Badminton World Cup with the presence of the best international players, including, as highlighted by the mayor of Huelva, Gabriel Cruz , “Our Carolina Marín, who even without competing, comes as a great ambassador of what is her World Cup, because it is celebrated at her home”.

More than 300 athletes from 35 countries will compete in a World Cup that expects the visit of more than 20,000 people to enjoy it live, while it is enjoyed in 614 million homes on five continents through different multimedia platforms and the broadcast of the event by 21 televisions, generating 55 million hits and an economic return of 4.3 million euros through media coverage alone, as detailed in a press release by the City Council.

The Huelva champion has confirmed her presence and during these days, depending on her schedule, it will be common to see her not only in the Sports Palace that bears her name, but also in the Village Plaza, the leisure space set up in the outdoor area, with three tents, destined not only to the assistants, but also to their companions, to the visitors and to all the people of Huelva, since the entrance is free.

The Village Plaza has a booth area for official merchandising, for sponsors and commercial brands. There will also be two air badminton courts to promote the practice of this sport, some tents that will house the VIP area, a restaurant space and a stage, where musical activities, talks, or different events will take place.
