The ATP confirms the rise of Jarry that installs him as the third national racket

The ATP released this Monday a new update of the world ranking that reflected a new rise of Nicolás Jarry in the classification.

The Chilean tennis player had a good participation in the last Challenger in Sao Paulo in which he reached the final of the tournament, when he lost 6-2 and 7-6 (5) against Argentine Juan Pablo Ficovich.

Thanks to this performance Nico reached 460 points and achieved a rise of 14 places in the classification to settle 146th in the world.

With this, Jarry became the third national racket, after taking the place from Tomás Barrios, who is now marching 147 °.

The Chilean classification continues to be led by Christian Garin (17th) and Alejandro Tabilo He dropped three spots and is now 138th on the ladder.

At the top, the ranking was unchanged and Novak Djokovic is still number one in the world with 11,540 points, seconded by Russian Daniil Medvedev (8,640) and German Alexander Zverev (7,840).

This allows Nico to get better positioned for what will be Chile’s next match in the Davis Cup with the mission of staying in World Group I. The draw carried out on Sunday determined that the team led by Nicolás Massú will face Slovenia and will be local again after four years, in the duel in which they seek to avoid descending to World Cup zone II.

The national team has not played at home since February 2018 when they faced Ecuador. After that key, the nationals have had to travel to Argentina, Austria, Sweden and Slovakia to play their matches.
