A survey among the team bosses in Formula 1 has shown that Max Verstappen is seen by them as the best driver of 2021. He has knocked Lewis Hamilton off the throne.
The list of the best ten Formula 1 drivers of the season according to the team bosses has become an annual tradition. Late at the end of each season Motorsport the team bosses draw up a list of their top ten best drivers of that past year. Based on the Formula 1 points system, where the driver on P1 gets 25 and the driver on P10 gets one point, an overall ranking is then made.
Research among nine team bosses
This year, nine team bosses took part in the survey. Christian Horner (Red Bull), Toto Wolff (Mercedes), Laurent Rossi (Alpine), Andreas Seidl (McLaren), Otmar Szafnuer (Aston Martin), Fred Vaseur (Alfa Romeo), Franz Tost (AlphaTauri), Jost Capito (Williams) and Günther Steiner (Haas). Ferrari was the only team not to participate.

In recent seasons Lewis Hamilton has always been in first place, but that is different this year. Verstappen is seen by the team bosses this year as the best driver of 2021. The Dutchman received a total of 188 points from the nine team bosses, putting him at the top of the list. He has risen one spot compared to 2020, when he came in second. Lewis Hamilton is in second place with 174 points, he was still at the top of the list in 2020. Lando Norris closes the top three with 100 points.
