Cortina d’Ampezzo (Italy) – Snowboarder Ester Ledecká celebrates her 20th anniversary in the World Cup. The Olympic winner went through a masterful parallel giant slalom in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy, where she won for the fifth time in her career.

In qualifying, Ledecká was four seconds faster than the second Nadyršinová in the sum of two races. In the first round, she clearly defeated Russia’s Milena Bykovová and crossed the Tomoku Takeučiová from Japan in the quarterfinals and the Italian Nadya Ochnerová in the semifinals.
In the final, Nadyršinová, this year’s world champion in parallel slalom, held on. However, Ledecká drove calmly and Russia did not manage the ride halfway down the track and fell. Ledecká reached the finish line herself, making a mistake a bit once, but after passing the finish line she raised her hand and smiled at the camera.
Ledecká attacked the victory already on Thursday in Carezza, where she returned to the elite series on snowboarding after a one-year break, but after falling in the final, she finished second.
Surprisingly, the German Ramona Hofmeisterová did not advance to the elimination rounds in Cortina, who finished twenty-fifth after a mistake in the second round. The Austrian Daniela Ulbingová took the lead in the World Championships, Ledecká is fourth with 180 points.
Other Czech riders finished in the qualification. Zuzana Maděrová got into the second race, after the first race Adam Počinek and Viktor Brůžek dropped out.
