Shonan Golden Age Academy Co., Ltd. (1-13-3 Tsujido, Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Representative Director: Hiroyuki Tomita, hereinafter referred to as Shonan Golden), which operates exercise classes and soccer teams for 1 to 12 years old, is a former professional basketball player. In partnership with player Masayuki Kabaya, we will open the Golden Basketball Academy, a basketball school for elementary and junior high school students, in Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture from March 2022.

After graduating from university, Mr. Kamatani played as a professional and played an active part in each team, such as acquiring various MVPs, breaking the score record of Japanese players, and winning the title with the highest 3P success rate. When he retired in the 2019 season, he was loved by both the team and his fans so that his number became the team’s first permanent retirement due to his contributions and achievements. Mr. Kamatani, who started playing basketball at the age of 10, felt that “players who can play an active role as professionals have high basic athletic ability”. It is necessary not only to improve basketball skills, but also to improve basic athletic ability and to develop sociality and independence as a person, and this time with Shonan Golden, I want to develop such players. It led to a partnership.
Shonan Golden operates an exercise class that develops the athletic ability that forms the basis of all sports, and operates a soccer team, touch rugby team, life saving team, etc. that are linked to the exercise class. And the common concept of each business is not to train athletes who only play sports, but to train people who have high basic athletic ability and human power and are needed and loved by society. Based on this concept shared with Mr. Kamatani, from March 2022, we will open a new basketball school that combines a curriculum based on Mr. Kamatani’s experience and ideas with a program to improve basic athletic ability of Shonan Golden.
