SEZZE – During the evening of 15 December last, in Sezze, the soldiers of the local Carabinieri station arrested a thirty-year-old Setino, already known to the police, in flagrant possession of the crime of illegal possession of weapons and ammunition.
The Carabinieri, in the context of the daily information – investigative activity on the territory, had acquired elements such as to suggest that the man could illegally hold weapons and ammunition. Therefore, a house search was carried out at the home of the person concerned who, right from the start, was particularly agitated and intolerant towards the operators.
From the very beginning, in fact, the soldiers of the Arma have found in the man’s availability a carbine and a compressed air pistol for free sale, that is, with a nominal power of less than 7.5 joules. In the continuation of the search, the military also found two daggers with a blade of 20 and 10 cm respectively, a machete with a 30 cm blade and a baseball bat. Despite all this material, the carabinieri did not interrupt the operations and on the contrary they finally found a 12 gauge handcrafted arquebus, made with two concentric pipes from hydraulic pipes, suitably assembled, complete with 20 cartridges.
The man, questioned on the matter, did not give explanations as to the origin of the material found and therefore, taken to the barracks, was declared under arrest and, at the end of the formalities, associated with the security chambers of the Provincial Command of Latina, available to the Pontine Judicial Authority, while all the material found was subjected to seizure.
The attention of the Provincial Carabinieri Command of Latina remains high and constant over the entire territory of competence in order to provide a concrete and incisive response to the legitimate demands of public order and security advanced by citizens.
The prevention and contrast services carried out by the Carabinieri will continue with diligence, combining the capillary patrol of the territory with a continuous and info-investigative activity, contacting traders and citizens in order to acquire as much information as is useful to prevent the repetition of crimes and ensure to justice the authors of those already perpetrated, the collaboration of all is in fact fundamental, not only of the experts, but also and above all of the citizens who are invited to report to the emergency number 112 any doubtful situation of which they become aware.
