Paris FC – Lyon: record number of spectators at the Charléty stadium

The 32nd final match of the Coupe de France which will oppose Paris FC this Friday (9 p.m. at Charléty stadium) in Lyon, is experiencing unprecedented enthusiasm for the Parisian club. After a rental that worked well – 14,000 tickets sold Thursday night at 24 hours before the match, the last tickets available at the stadium ticket offices quickly left this Friday. At 5.30 p.m., Paris FC announced on its social networks that the match would be sold out.

The Charléty stadium (19,500 seats) will therefore beat its record for a Paris FC match. The club expects between 17 and 18,000 spectators.

The previous record dates from May 21, 2019 during the play-off match against Lens (1-1, 4-5 in the tabs). That evening, there were 14,653 spectators at the Charléty stadium but with half of Lensois.

The arrival of the Lyon teams therefore makes it possible to boost the attendance of Paris FC. Last Sunday, the club’s women’s team also broke its record for a match at Charléty with 4,224 spectators against Lyon during the 11th day of the D1 Arkema.

Paris FC, whose average in Ligue 2 struggles to exceed 3-4,000 spectators, hopes to succeed in its seduction operation and retain an audience as Thierry Laurey wishes. “We have good results so sometimes we would like to have more people supporting us. I come from a club (Strasbourg) where popular fervor has sometimes helped us a lot. If this Lyon match could serve as a trigger, let people say to themselves: Hey, there is another club in Paris, that would be good. “
