Oita Prefecture is a member of the Japan National Baseball Team who won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics on the 27th. The award ceremony was held. Kai attended the ceremony.

At the Olympics, in the bottom of the ninth inning against the Dominican Republic, Pinch runner Genda survived the tie with Kai’s squeeze play, contributing to a come-from-behind victory. Kai hit a walk-off home run against the United States to advance to the semi-finals. In the final, starting pitcher Morishita showed a good pitch to keep the goal free up to five times.
